According to the most recent figures published by the Notaires of Paris, prices for Parisian real estate continued their decade long upward trend, rising by 2.4% for the 2nd quarter of 2008. On an annual basis, Paris real estate has appreciated 10.4%. However, a portent of the future may be the finding that the volume of sales was down 15% in the 2nd quarter. Overall, I think that these findings continue to support my belief that Parisian real estate will generally buck the prevailing trend of price depreciation felt elsewhere, particularly in the UK, Spain and the US markets.
